Nuvi 200 Series: This is the basic series that Garmin has created. They are great little navigators for a great price that skip out on extra features that you might not use. You could say it is their budget series with only core features.

Nuvi 300 Series: These are the more average middle range of units. They run from your standard featured device to more high end aimed at people who intend on getting a lot of use out of their device. They don’t contain widescreens or the very latest technology like the high series.

Nuvi 600 Series: These are a bit pricier because this is an all widescreen series but they are almost identical to the 300 series aside from adding a few key features that are more recent in the higher models. The 680 was added a bit later than the other three and contains some cool newer features.

Nuvi 700 Series: These are the newest devices by Garmin. They are the very top of the line in GPS navigation with the newest technology and features. Prices are a little higher than the other series because of this.

When you turn on the Garmin Nuvi 670, your first impression is a very user friendly menu system. It’s pretty straight forward. I like having the wide screen so there is more space for everything making it less congested and easier to navigate than say the 370. Simple taps of the touch screen navigate you through the categories. Everything is well labeled and neatly organized for you to easily find the feature you are looking for so the manual isn’t even needed to figure out most things. The interface is extremely efficient and simple to use which is very important when most of its use is in the midst of traffic and driving. I had it all figured out in no time at all.

Navigating and Driving with the Nüvi 670 GPS

The core of the Nuvi 670, the display of your route and travel is very easy to read with multiple 2d, 3d, day and night modes, with a simple yet extremely efficient routing with different colors of roads and object symbolizing different things. Turn by turn instructions (in voice, visual or text), easy to zoom, and with data such as how much further to arrival, the estimated time and conditions of your route to arrival, and much more make navigation and driving through even the most confusing and foreign places pretty simplistic and mindless. Having the voice telling you where to go is wonderful for when the road requires your full attention and you don’t have time to really look at the screen.

The Garmin Nuvi 670 has nothing on this Nuvi 770. It shows it up in everything aspect. It even has the same widescreen but has a slimmer design and the Europe maps if you plan on traveling. Navigation features that the 770 adds are planning and saving up to ten routes at a time, sorting your destinations for the most efficient route, and tracking the route you are taking. It also has MSN Direct which can check weather and traffic reports, check movie times, compare gas prices, and do many more useful tasks. This is Garmin’s top of the line unit that contains all of their latest technology.

The Garmin Nuvi 760 has all the features of the Nuvi 670 and so much more. It has the 4.3” widescreen, Bluetooth, FM transmitter, traffic capabilities, and all the entertainment features. Only thing missing is European maps. It also has new navigational features that really make your life a whole lot easier. It can store up to ten routes, sort multiple destinations to make the most efficient route, track where you have gone, and much more. It is MSN Direct compatible which can do a lot like incorporate traffic reports into your route making or even things such as comparing gas prices or finding movie times. It is the ultimate in convenience.

The Garmin Nuvi 750 is a member of the top series available at the moment. It is the lowest model in the series so it still is missing some extra features the Nuvi 670 provides like Bluetooth and European maps. It has new navigational features that Garmin has recently showcased that are quite practical though. These include the ability to store up to 10 routes, the ability to make a trail of the route you exactly went, and the ability to auto-sort multiple destinations to create the most direct route that will cover them all. It also has the MSN Direct feature that can check weather and traffic reports, check movie times, compare gas prices, and do many more useful tasks. It is a very powerful device that does much more than just getting you where you want to go.

The Garmin Nuvi 680 has some advantages and disadvantages when compared with the Nuvi 670. They are very closely priced so you should make you decision carefully. They both have most of the high end features made by Nuvi. This includes Bluetooth, mp3/audible book player, FM transmitter, traffic reports, and the 4.3” widescreen. The only differences are the Nuvi 670 contains Europe maps while the Nuvi 680 doesn’t and the Nuvi 680 has the MSN Direct service which the Nuvi 670 does not. The MSN Direct can do lots for you like check weather and traffic reports, check movie times, compare gas prices, and many more useful tasks. It is a very useful service but makes the device quite pricey.

The Garmin Nuvi 660 is like the little brother to the Nuvi 670. It has all of the same features as its big brother like Bluetooth, mp3/audio book player, widescreen, and the FM transmitter/TMC receiver. The only thing missing from the 660 that makes it less expensive is the Europe maps.

The Garmin Nuvi 650 is in the same series as the Nuvi 670. This series features the 4.3” widescreen that is much easy to read and use. The 650 is the lowest model in the group missing features like Bluetooth and the FM transmitter/TMC receiver. It also doesn’t have Europe maps like the 670. It does however have the mp3/audio book player and can speak street names.

The Garmin Nuvi 370 is almost identical to the Nuvi 670. It comes with the same maps (NA and Europe), Bluetooth, and mp3 and audio book playback. These are the major features offered by both devices, not all of them remember. The only difference is the Nuvi 670 comes with both the widescreen which is easier to read and the TMC receiver. A TMC receiver is available to add to this model if you want to use traffic reports to help your navigating.

The Garmin Nuvi 360 is a well equipped affordable GPS device. It contains extra features that many people would find extremely useful but not necessarily helpful in navigating. Like the 670 it will come with an mp3 and audio book player as well as Bluetooth technology. It is even capable of using traffic reports to direct around traffic. Things missing from the 360 that can be found on the 670 are the Europe maps and the widescreen.

The Garmin Nuvi 350 is your average well rounded GPS navigational assistants. Although it doesn’t come with a TMC receiver like the Nuvi 670 does it is capable of having it added on incase you decide on upgrading at a later time. It can also play mp3’s either saved on a SD memory card or the flash memory. It does not have Bluetooth technology or the widescreen like the 670 either.

The Garmin Nuvi 270 is the most basic device in the Nuvi series except for its Europe and North American maps. It comes with the travel tools that Garmin includes in all their devices minus some features that you may find unnecessary like Bluetooth, an mp3 player, or the widescreen. There is not much comparison between the 270 and the 670. They are on opposite ends of the navigation market. Only similarity is that they are both the Transatlantic versions of other devices, adding only the Europe maps to the Nuvi 250 and the Nuvi 660.
