The Nüvi 670 was a great travel companion for me. On my latest trip to England I used the suction cup and cigarette lighter adapter to put it in my rental car. It was priceless in getting me from point to point. I had a tough enough time driving on the wrong side of the road and getting around the roundabouts. The pedestrian mode was very useful in helping me get oriented after I came up from the subways. It’s a nice feature they added having the pedestrian mode ignore illegal turns and one-ways. The Bluetooth works great with my Moto RAZR and the MP3 player does the job. I like the picture viewer for viewing a small number of pictures on the go. For larger numbers of images they really need a better way to navigate through them. It was also a little slow when loading some larger sized images with higher pixel counts from my camera, but it really isn’t a picture viewer, it’s a GPS, so what can you really expect. It’s good enough to show a few family snapshots to friends, but you might want to save looking through pictures on a 2MB SD card for another method. I like the simple USB interface to my Mac. It makes it easy to get files on and off the Nüvi.

Overall, I’m surprised at how much data I can hold in the palm of my hand and the number of things this device can do well. I give it four stars instead of five only because of the minor issues I had and occasional problems in the database in Europe. For example, it could guide me to pick up my rental car at Heathrow airport, but not to drop it off. Also, the FM transmitter isn’t very strong and doesn’t work well in my car. These issues were minor, but make room for improvement.
